I was looking for a picture this morning and I came across these of Sammy and Eli from Easter Sunday in 2009.

Here’s the difference three years makes:

There’s never a dull moment around here!  Abraham started fussing Monday morning, and this is where I discovered him.  Eli was laying on the floor behind the chair, so Abraham backed himself under the chair to be by his brother.  However, he didn’t like the situation once he got into it.

Best buds

Later on, we ate lunch together.  I turned to look at Abraham, and he was sharing his sandwich with Elmo!

But, it turns out that Elm can’t really eat food, so Abraham popped the sandwich into his own mouth.  He cracks us up!

Sammy and I went on our “Daddy date” tonight. He chose to go to Target, where we ate a soft pretzel, drank some fruit punch, and spent about an hour pouring over the toy section.

I dread the day we have to cut his gorgeous curls.  Maybe it’s because he’s the baby.  Maybe it’s because we’ve never had curls like this before.  But one thing’s for sure–I’m in love with them.

(You can click on a picture if you want to see it larger and really appreciate the curls.)

Look at them!

They fit his personality well…fun, mischievous, stubborn

…plus he still looks like a sweet baby with all the curls

I can’t imagine what he’s going to look like after he gets his first haircut (not that we’re planning it right now).  I do remember that there’s a huge difference and the kid suddenly looks like he’s 5 year old.  I want to keep my baby for a bit longer…probably till he gets mistaken for a girl.  Regularly, not just once.   🙂

Abraham likes to help cook, especially when it involves tasting something yummy.  On one particular day, he saw me baking dragged his little chair over to stand on, and discovered something chocolate!  I don’t remember what it was we were making, but it seems to be a big hit with him.  🙂

Oh, yes!!!

I love chocolate!

This is amazing, I’m so glad the big guys are off playing and missing it!

First shorts of the season…on February 28

Here’s a little taste of what it’s like at our house…

Since I posted Sammy’s drawing of the Winnie the Pooh cast, I thought I’d share one of Eli’s recent white board creations.  He is so sweet drawing and doing his very best, but he sometimes gets discouraged that his pictures aren’t as good as Sammy’s.  On this particular day, however, Eli was very proud of his final product!

Big Bird (no yellow marker so he’s red), Cookie Monster, and Elmo

He looks so big in this pic

A friend from church recently sent us some pictures from late Fall 2010, or about a year and 5 months ago.  You won’t believe how much the boys have changed since then!  They’re ADORABLE!  They’re so little!  I love it.  Thank you, Tsion, for sharing your pics!

Our Cuddle Monster.  He wore this shirt nonstop that summer!

Hugs on the trampoline (Current wallpaper on our desktop.  I recommend it.)

We walked out to a cabin on their property and Sammy was a character, as usual.

Mehret and Abraham…look at those arms!!  (Abey’s, not Mehret’s.)

Abey-Baby fell fast asleep. He’s so little, but also so big!

Sammy and Eli on the hammock. Sweetness.

I think I may need a tissue with all this little-ness…  Where has the time gone?

It was so fun to walk home from church a few weeks ago and have snow to play in!!!  The boys were all really excited about it (the first snow) and had fun making snowballs, on touching snow, and watching the big flakes coming down.  It was a great winter moment.  🙂

Eli “feeling happy about the snow”

Sammy “feeling happy about the snow.  I was thinking about my usuals: Bible, Star Wars, Spider-Man, Batman, guys.”

Abraham in awe

A snowball

…and launching it at the fence!

Everybody checking things out

Sammy’s taste testing the snow

Abraham so excited!  (too cute to leave out ’cause it’s blurry)

I think it’s safe to say that’s the end of our snow pictures for the season!  It’s been in the 60’s (maybe even 70’s) for a little while now so I think winter’s gone and spring’s here.  Makes me a little sad, but it’s also been great playing outside without jackets and running in the predawn without feeling like an ice cube.  Good-bye, winter!
