A few weeks ago we posted this video of Abraham singing a song at the dinner table. We thought the song was cute, but none of us could figure out what he was actually saying. Well, just the other day we stumbled upon the true meaning of “Wo-mo-ee-ei”.

Abraham was sitting on Gretchen’s lap while she was scrolling through Netflix videos, looking for something for the boys to watch. She passed over the old “Transformers” cartoon from the 80’s, and all of the sudden Abraham started pointing and singing, “Wo-mo-ee-ei, wo-mo-ee-ei!” Clearly he was saying something about Transformers, but we still didn’t understand what. Then I remembered the part of the show’s theme song where  they sing, “The Transformers, more than meets the eye!”, and suddenly it hit me. The melody of Abraham’s “Wo-mo-ee-ei” song had pretty much the same tune as the “more than meets the eye” part of the song. That night at the dinner table he was singing, “More than meets the eye, more than meets the eye!”

Here’s the Transformers theme song so you can listen for yourself. The part he’s singing starts at the 11 second mark:

Gretchen went to The Gospel Coalition Women’s Conference last week, so the boys and I spent four days together without her (for the first time). We did a lot of stuff, and I’ll post some more pictures here soon, but here’s a glimpse of how robustly masculine we were in her absence:

Happy Father’s Day, to our #1 Dad, Best Papaw, and Favorite Granddad!!!  Charlie was able to visit his dad at the beginning of the weekend, and my parents came to visit here.  We were thankful to be able to see both of our dad’s this Father’s Day weekend.  We love you both!

Me and Sammy with my parents (a lot of blue/green eyes!)

We celebrated Abraham’s birthday by cutting his hair!!!  He did a great job and didn’t even really notice I was cutting it.  (He was watching a Pooh movie.)  I wasn’t sure how much to trim, and maybe did it too short, but it turned out pretty well.

Here’s Abraham one year ago (notice the lack of hair!):

The mane yesterday morning:

Eli jumped in on this one (very excited about Charlie’s old Game Boy)

Super long hair!

New haircut for his party!

What do you do if you’re one on your birthday eve?  Well, if you’re Abraham Evans, you sneak downstairs after you should be in bed and play with Mommy and Daddy!  🙂

He started with a little guitar playing

Then moved on to being silly (to distract us from putting him to bed)

Snuggled with Mommy for a picture (he loves seeing himself on the camera!)

Then we ended with a  piggy back ride up to bed

Hopefully his birthday will be just as fun!  Sammy’s already asking to do Abraham’s “whole party” (cake, presents, etc.) at breakfast instead of dinner.  It may be a long day of waiting for his big brothers.

***I realize our blog is all about Abraham right now, we really need to branch out.  We’re not trying to neglect Sammy and Eli, they’re just off doing their own thing sometimes and not interested in having their pictures taken.  🙂

Here’s a glimpse of dinner at our house last night. Abraham decided to sing a song to delay having to eat his dinner. The song may be about Wal-mart, or a woman, or his brother Eli, or cake, I can’t tell.
